The existing bathroom was cold and drafty in the winter. The shower was leaking. The 109" ceiling height made the small room feel awkward and the room was much bigger than it needed to be. The toilet was right in front of the door as you walked in.
As part of a larger renovation project, the kitchen wall was moved 24” into the bathroom in order to provide for an additional run of cabinets next to the wider the back door. The ceiling was lowered, retaining the existing skylight. With open access from the basement below, the toilet waste stack was easily moved to the left of the door for a more comfortable entrance. The sink was moved to the left of the shower.
The decor was kept a simple and classic black & white to give ample opportunity for ramping up the color with towels and other accessories. The frameless shower glass helps the shower feel more spacious.
