The hall bath, used by an adult son and occasional guests, was outdated, shabby and had miserable lighting and no exhaust fan. The one outlet at the vanity was in the wall light.
Without adding any space or changing the layout, the bathroom was updated and modernized. The new grey Kohler floating vanity has loads of style and improved storage. A triple recessed medicine cabinet adds even more storage. Electric and lighting were upgraded: 2 GFI outlets and an LED wall light at the vanity, a wet location ceiling light in the tub/shower, and a humidity-sensor exhaust fan. Water conservation was also was improved with a dual flush toilet and WaterSense rated faucets.
We brought the look and feel into the 21st century by replacing the 1960s pink with a large textured white wall tile combined with muted accents of grey + soft green glass mosaic, and a skinny plank grey porcelain floor tile. New plumbing fixtures and accessories in a sophisticated dark matte steel finish pop against the tile.
